Q: When does the conference begin and end?

A: The conference begins Friday, April 23, 2010 at 7:00 PM. There are a number of pre-conference activities earlier on Friday. The Conference concludes Sunday, April 25, at 10:30 AM. See Schedule for the times of all activities including those pre- and post-conference.

Q: What does my registration include?

A: All registrations include a general admission ticket to the Concert for All Ages: “An Evening with John McCutcheon.” There are slight differences by age category as to what other conference activities your registration covers:

An Adult registration or Young Adult registration includes the full conference and its activities. It also includes the following meals: Saturday April 24: breakfast, Awards Luncheon, and evening buffet Sunday April 25: breakfast A Youth registration or Child registration includes the full conference and its activities. It also includes the following meals: Saturday April 24: breakfast, picnic lunch and scavenger hunt at noon, and evening buffet Sunday April 25: breakfast An Infant and Toddler registration includes child care during selected Saturday hours, as well as the following meals with parents or sponsors: Saturday April 24: breakfast, Awards Luncheon, and evening buffet Sunday April 25: breakfast

Q: Do I register for the pre-conference workshops at the same time?

A: You can include these workshops with your Annual Conference registration or register separately.

Q: How do I reserve a room at the hotel?

A: This is separate from your conference registration, and you will need to make the arrangements yourself. We have arranged group rates at the conference hotel (the Radisson City Plaza) and an alternative hotel (the Holiday Inn Rock Island). See Accommodations for more information.

Q: How do I get to the conference hotel and other conference sites?

A: The Radisson City Plaza, the conference hotel, is located in the heart of downtown Davenport, between River Drive (Highway 67) and 2nd Street at 111 E. 2nd Street. See Driving Directions for instructions to get there by car. See Transportation for public transportation options and car rental information.

Most conference events are within a block or so of the conference hotel. Transportation to the Unitarian Church will be for provided some events during the conference, but not for the Pre-Conference Workshops. Shuttles will be provided between the two hotels during the conference. See Transportation for details.

Q: Is parking available downtown?

A: The City of Davenport runs the River Center parking ramp, located between East 2nd St. and East 3rd St., which serves the Radisson. See Transportation for more information about parking.

Parking at the Holiday Inn Rock Island, the alternative hotel, is free for guests.

Q: What about dinner Friday night?

A: There are several options.

Please consider our pre-conference Mexican dinner, prepared by talented chefs from the host congregation. Reservation and separate fee required. Make reservation when you register for the conference or to add later go to Annual Conference A La Carte. Scheduled for Friday, 4:00–6:00 PM Adults and youth $6.00 per person; children $3.00 per person. We’ll meet at the River Music Experience, a museum and performance center celebrating the music of the Mississippi River Valley – jazz, blues and more – located just a short walk from the Radisson. Join us for great food as well as an emcee’d Open Mic Evening – bring your appetite and your instruments and join other UUs in relaxing and jamming before the conference starts. Alternatively, in your registration packet you will find a coupon for a discount on your Friday evening meal at the Brady Street Chophouse, which is in the Radisson Quad City Plaza Hotel. Staff at both hotels (Radisson and Holiday Inn) will have more extensive lists of local dining opportunities.

Q: What do I do if I am a delegate?

A: Make sure your congregation president or minister has notified PSD that you are a delegate. (See Business Meeting for the instructions.) Be knowledgeable about the issues to be voted on (See Business Meeting) and your congregation’s opinions. Be sure to sign in as a delegate (in addition to picking up your conference materials) at the conference registration table before 7:30 AM on Saturday. As a delegate, you’ll get a special sticker for your name badge and a PSD Annual Report. Attend the Business Meeting at 8:00 AM on Saturday. Share the PSD Annual Report and the things you learned at the Conference with your congregation.

Q: Where on the radio dial is Public Radio?

A: You will find Public Radio on the dial at several locations:
