At District Assembly this year we will host a forum between the two candidates for president of the Unitarian Universalist Association. The Reverends Laurel Hallman and Peter Morales will be joining us on the Saturday afternoon of District Assembly ("DA"), and now is your chance to help shape what they talk about during their time with us.

uuacandidates.jpgThink about what is important to you in a leader of the UUA.  What questions do you need to ask Peter and Laurel to figure out how they would represent the UUA?  Please send me your thoughts for what you would like to hear from the candidates.  Even if you won’t be able to make it to District Assembly this year, send your questions along as you may get an answer anyway as the forum will be available on the web. Online DA registration is HERE. The UUA’s presidential election site has some information about the candidates, but I would suggest reading some of the materials on their web sites:
The Rev. Dr. Laurel Hallman:
The Rev. Peter Morales:

I suggest reading their personal stories and some of their sermons and other addresses; this is a good way to get a feel for what they are like in that sphere.  Let me know what you want to know more about regarding Peter and Laurel.

At General Assembly in Salt Lake City this June (more information) one of these two qualified ministers will become President of the UUA.  Delegates from congregations can vote there, or via an absentee ballot. Our District President, the Rev. Daniel O’Connell talks about it here.
